Northshire to Dun Morogh on a Warcraft Quest
This is created for individuals just starting in the World of Warcraft, who need to travel, explore and look around as fast as possible.
If you’re like me, and start out as a human at Northshire Abbey, it can be really tempting to hit the road straight away and travel as far as possible. The World of Warcraft is utterly enormous and full of so many unique landscapes and peoples, that after completing a bunch of low-level quests it can be really great to get out and orient yourself before concentrating on developing your character.
The difficulty is that if you’re new, the creatures in the farther locations can kill you rather quick. Your home area at Northshire has low-level creatures, and a beginning Warcraft quest in Northshire isn’t too difficult to finish. But the adjoining lands – Westfall, Duskwood and the Redridge Mountains require a fair bit more skill and preparation; and better equipment.
So what should you do if you genuinely need to get off to a quick start exploring prior to focusing on getting your avatar to larger levels ( you can easily do this later on in the game ) ?
One thing that nearly all new players don’t know is that there is an underground tram between 2 of the biggest cities in the Eastern Kingdoms – Stormwind and Ironforge. Ironforge is the Dwarf stronghold in the mountains of Dun Morogh, North of Northshire and Elwynn Forest. Stormwind is a substantial city and center of human endeavour, a fairly secure walk west of Northshire Valley. The additional great thing is that Dun Morogh is a comparably protected area similar to Elwyn – it’s the place the the Dwarves start out from.
Immediately after you’ve accomplished a straightforward warcraft quest or two to get your bearings and discover how things are done, head to the south through the gates of Northshire Valley to the town at Goldshire, then the North-West road should take you to Stormwind. If you stay on the major paths ( both in Elwyn and Dun Morogh ) you’ll be quite safe. The wolves, bears and various antagonistic animals keep away from the major well-trodden paths – so don’t stray off them.
Stormwind itself is awe-inspiring to explore, but once you’re ready, head into the Dwarven District, which is the Northern area of Stormwind. You should be able to come across the Deeprun Tram fairly easily. Then it’s a fast ride that ends high in the Mountains at Ironforge. You’ll get off in Tinkertown, which is in between the Hall of Explorers and the Military Ward. When you go out through the enormous gates of Ironforge you’ll find yourself in a snow covered land of mountain peaks very different to Elwyn Forest. A totally huge new place to discover.
