Growing up in the 90’s was like living in a happy-go-lucky era. Everyone seems to be carefree. Everything seems to be temporary. The world seems to be moving so slow. Everyone does not care about everyone. For a teenager like me, life in those days was definitely perfect. No one to care for and no obligation means freedom to the fullest.
Things are becoming more different as time passes; you begin to change both emotionally and mentally. Life is starting to devour you seriously. You start to begin to become responsible and caring for somebody has become life-sustaining. You become conscious that living life to the fullest is a must as you begin to get older because you now realize that each day passes quickly. Changing your outlook to life as well as lifestyle is being affected by being attached to somebody.
It was in my job at a local company in my hometown after college that I met my future wife. It was love at first sight and instantly I know that this woman will change my life forever. It Surely did and after being together for a year, we got married and were blessed with two kids. Compared to what my life was during those carefree years, my life is very different now. All was perfect until I as given a chance to work out of the country.
Being away from family or even friends can be so distress especially if you are not used of being far away from them. As for me, that is the case. I have not been away from my loved ones since I was a teenager. It always is making me feel lonely especially at nights thinking that I cannot be with my kids during bedtime. And this longing made the new technology my closest ally in defeating loneliness.
I am so thankful to the internet for it gave me the chance to be connected with my loved ones anywhere and anytime without the annoyance of being charged with expensive call rates and the ever-slow snail mails. With video chats, I could now see my children as if there were just with me as I am talking to them and vice-versa. As being connected with my loved ones, the internet surely did made my life easy. Before, I have uncertainty about the power of technology but now, hands down; innovation has my utmost respect and love for without it, life will be miserable. Internet did not just made me get connected with my loved ones but it sure did added life to my already fulfilled life.
